Cluster A - Part 2A Poem by Rene SalinasStudies in compositionThe Ghost Of Madness by Ion vincent DAnu I’ve been trying to go against the grain for so long, I can’t remember anymore. Little did I know that by offering a form of opposition? I would end up developing, a mental condition. No more work--the stigma attached will never fade; “Unemployable,” they said. No more love--the caustic nature of the pathology means now I’ve become medicinal mythology. No more chances to be normal--I wanted to be the epitome of the conservative and formal: Never mind. At least now I can continue to rebel and disappear in my immersive submission of hatred, terror and contrition, free to go against the grain See? I can go against the grain: Against everyone, everybody, but most importantly myself. © 2016 Rene Salinas |
