Hope To See You Soon

I looked from the balcony,
And the world looked back,
Wondering why the sky tonight,
Looked so dreadfully black.

The stars gleefully shimmered,
And danced into the night,
Who could be other than gay--
looking at such a sight.

Not I--I sat in the shadows,
Where the light did not invade,
Not I at all--Not I!
Would ever want to trade!

I waited with a sigh,
Until the fading moon,
Said to the sun--Goodbye,
--Hope--to see you soon.
