Lonely Death

Lonely Death

A Poem by Rita

What a beautiful pair of rivers,
Of salty bitter tears,
They flow from seas of chocolate brown,
And touch the corners of two quivering lips,
They flood from the many wrinkles,
That remember a missing smile,
And whisper to a pair of pale painted cheeks,
Tellingthem how grief took their color,
That was oh so similar,
To that of the wilting rose,
That lies on a lonely tomb,
That calls for a companion,
I will comply.

At times our presence is consolation enough.
