Anew

Anew

A Poem by Riverdance

It's been so long

Since my heart was live

Alive like this

For such a while

It lay in silence

Beating slowly

Only a job to care

But this feeling now?

So new---yet old

Long ago it was quite known

Yes...it was.

My breath is ragged

Pulse fast unsteady

Unwanted risk

Dare I try?

Oh! So long it's been

Yet so much I've missed

Bright blue eyes

How they melt my soul

Despite lost patience

Butterflies break free

"For such a while
It lie in silence"

Shouldn't 'lie' be 'lay'?

nice expression of your feelings here... It was little confusing for me... yet I loved the second-to-last stanza.

awe~can I relate to your poem Anew!! Sometimes I wonder if I'll ever cross paths with another that will send me for an in love loop? ;~} Perhaps, perhaps not if it's meant to be perhaps I'll find myself out of breath with a rapid pulse and someone will notice how silly I've become and ask me that question that was asked of me so long ago by a co-worker... "are you in love?" Interesting... then I thought no, but once back to work and thinking about the question, I realized that yes, I was in love... how they know that when I didn't? ;~) Perhaps with patience (that I'm low on most times) the butterflies within will break free once again?? Oh wow... thanks, very much, for sharing this with me!! Sallie Bear

Reminds me of my first day back at work after two weeks off... I'm kidding.

Seriously, one can feel the excitement and anticipation throughout this piece. The first stanza sets it up and it gradually builds until the "butterflies break free".
Nicely done. Just take your time.
Hoping for the best!
