Burning wounds

Burning wounds

A Poem by Rizviya Rahman

It's dark all around.
The street lights are gone,
and the world is in sound sleep.

But wide awake my eyes remain.
I think and think and think again,
Of my next plan that I'd execute,
in the last move of this endless feud..

For the revenge is now mine,
and I have nothing to lose.

..I thought you were Romeo,
And I, Juliet..

...Shakespeare wrote our story well,
But Alas ! It wasn't ''Romeo and Juliet'', that he wished to tell.

It's the story of ''Julius Caesar'' to which I refer,
You are Caesar. And being Brutus, is what I prefer.

Ah..very well I'm ready to commit suicide.....
bu not until I've ripped that heart, where you once said I reside !

A dark, fierce write that flows from what was once a faithfulness... now turned into a knife... I love Shakespeare and you capture the essence of his soul... the ocean of it... in your wondrous, slicing sighs...
