FALLEN ANGEL

FALLEN ANGEL

A Poem by SJ Mullins
"

Where sin leads...

"
I'm a fallen angel with broken wings.
Throughout the night, the nightingale sings
his melodious songs to try and cheer me,
but I cry out, "just let me be!"

I bury my face to hide my shame,
'Cause I am the only one to blame.
I fear I cannot be saved at all,
I am so filthy, ready for my pall.

I slowly walk to the edge of the cliff.
Suddenly, I hear a daunting riff.
A black-winged creature grabs for me,
to take me to the fiery sea.

Is there no hope at all for me?
The blistering pit is all I see.
Don't follow me into this blazing abyss,
for then you will hear the serpent's hiss.

It is too late for my redemption
For me, there will be no exemption
The serpent leads the way to his master
It could have been triumph instead of disaster.
