Mary

Mary

A Poem by Blackwood

Pleased as punch

Eating her lunch

She munch munch munches away

Sitting at the table reading condament label

Her iPod on replay

Sticking to the 2000 calorie diet

Such a laugh riot

Wondering why she tried it

Everyone chimming and beeping

Lying but calling it talking

Reading and thinking

But mostly dreamin’

But she’s listening to the Jazz of Charles Lloyd

Her fingers beating

She’s Mary and this is her moment
