The moments behind

The moments behind

A Poem by Blackwood

I've spent the past night

Mourning the muses

in a dizzy delight

head spinning and body reeling

lost in the riminiscing,

that has been my unwelcomed home

Each memory spilling from my head

breaking upon the shore of my eyes

light cuts the sheets

wind fans the pond

and for brief moments I see

in ways i havent seen in years

scatterd  of the where i am in this circus of time

Love is strong

though the canals remain dry

the foolish happenings remain painting me a fool

and a smile is beams from this weathering face

shinning true as the sun in its joy, and the ruckus of laughter fills the room

Ever powerless to the spell of Saturn

I continue to ride this wave of flashing memories

bouncing babies and late mornings

hushed labored coos and the grumbles of a morining after

everyday is just the latest in mistakes and magic

in life

And i take it,

lying down,

legs spread,

giggeling.
