Drinking

Drinking

A Poem by Blackwood

can the drink finally force me to spill out

the havok and the horror that has wretched my heart so

can the drink find its way past my gut and down to the roots

can it make a sour meal more so

that i vomit up everything that i spit upon'

with it can i find a solace that the asana can not force from base of the spione to the roof of heaven

can it bring the west to the east in acts of brotherhood and synthesis and quail what fear is boiling in the heart

making mad men fall to their knees to a god they know and love

and strangers to fall and find love for the alien and the confuising

ignoring the precepts of logic and structure to find rapture

glorious  and serendipitoius awe

to that which they held but never known

can the drink make a broken heart melt

to be the water that cup can come to claim

to a man tha strives for and offers forgiveness

but knows not how to recieve,

can it make a sober man forget

can it make me forget

if but a moment

forget

you..you..and you...

and welcome you, to come
