To Cry Out...Freedom

To Cry Out...Freedom

A Poem by Blackwood

Lately,

Words have been filling my days

so many words

as colorful as the mouths they fire from

as sharp as the minds that molds them

as hard,

as the hearts that house them

a life dripping in words

like hate,

and fear

betrayal and Murder

power,

control...

destruction and salvation

peace

deliverance

paetience and justice

A life dripping in the colors of an unhappily ever-after

with nothing but prayers,

filling the moments between whimpers

more words you see,

I'd pray for Wisdom and insght

to see in this candle absent night

but my voice is too small

I'd pray for a miracle of life

because death has made a home upon my doorstep

but Life courts death and I'm no fool

If there were words I could manage to find

in my soul

to cry out

I'd simply cry freedom! Freedom!

and let the ever spinning wheel measure my lot

keeping faith that I shall be met kindly

If Faith dosen't turn out to be  just another word
