DITCH

DITCH

A Poem by Rook Requiem
"

Just read it.

"

DITCH

I've made a deadly decision

Leaving lives to hang in balance

A single tip, a push on either side

Could slit my wrists and burn the world

Already I see the scales waver

Things I can read; the eyes

She left her thoughts open to me

And I rush to brace the beams

I should've seen this comming

After all the times before

Knowing armor can't protect a heart

I expend my energy trying

I am nothing with nothing

I am nothing for nothing

But I am everything for something

Turning the world into a molotov

I take the sword of love

I take the life from me

Left alone I was nothing

With you I was something

I see the crimson flood escape me

I close my eyes to see you

But you're not alone

And I've grown cold
