Biscuit

Biscuit

A Poem by Rosa Carlyle-Mitchell
"

I f*****g love chocolate and sweets. Here's a small ode.

"

Oh unexpected soul-mate,
I adore each ingredient!
So I impute it to fate
though my love may seem expedient.

Not one chip on your shoulder,
only chocolate ones in you.
All my praise could fill a folder,
or perhaps, quite a few.

Your only flaw is transience.
How is this ‘us’ to survive?
All I want to do is eat you;
there’s no ‘us’ if you’re not alive!

If someone else was to bite you,
I’d take over despite you...
But oh baby, oh biscuit!
I think that we should risk it.

I shall try my best
to preserve your crumbly sphere,
for there's nowhere I’d rather be
than next to you, right here.
