Found Something New Out About You

Found Something New Out About You

A Poem by Rose-Pearl
"

Just a Discovery I Had About a Girl I dated

"

I think you might be straight.

And it pisses me off.

All I was after was a mate.

Someone I could romance.

And on our fourth date

I asked you a question

That you tried to skate

But let me back up

Let me explain why there is a bifurcate

First, you wish to be gender neutral now.

And after a careful cogitate

I decided I really don’t give a damn.

Let me reiterate,

I like you for you, not what you decide to be.

But let me get to why I think you’re straight.

Kissing you was nice for me

Yet you did not recuperate

You sat stone faced and stiff

While I was grazing your breastplate.

I asked you why you were dating me.

The answer was etched into our fate.

“I thought I’d never get the chance to experience this again”

I do not even fascinate?

You’re not even attracted to me!

Your identities you misappropriate.

So, keep going to your LGBTQ meetings

I am not left in a bitter state

But I think we both know you’re not into girls

I would like to say our times were great

But I honestly can’t

But I can say I need a fete

Not because I’m sad

But because you cannot frustrate

Best of love to you baby-not-girl

Hope you liked this abrogate.

Well I can certainly say for a fact that your first line drew my attention, never saw that as an opening line of a write before, but through your frustration, is that a little smile I see playing on your words? I can see the frustration here, a paid up member falls for a girl who is at most affiliated to being a member of a group she sees as giving her meaning, yet she realises not that playing with peoples emotions is just that, playing. Baby not girl feels like a back handed compliment, and are a perfect conclusion to your words.
