America Is Yet Not Free

America Is Yet Not Free

A Poem by Meh
"

Think about it! This poem hit me hard! I just found it a few minutes ago... I wrote it a long time ago. I find it true to the heart, especially when I think about it this Thanksgiving 2008. I believe that someday America will be free. Happy Thanksgiving,

"

America is yet not free.

You can tell by the breeze

That runs through the trees

That America is yet not free.

This is what I believe:

That someday America will be free.

That everyone will have a house to stay and be

And someday America will be free

Someday, America will be at peace

And all wars will finally cease

No more pain will there be;

Love only will everyone see

Someday, America will have hope.

From deaths, they will not mope.

But for the journey ahead,

Every hungry child will be fed.

America is yet not free.

You can tell by the breeze

That runs through the trees

That someday America will be free.

Melancholy, but with a hopeful feel. I love how you create such ideas and images using so few words. You simply say "hungry child," but I feel like I can see all of their faces. Wonderful job. :)
