The Lighthouse

The Lighthouse

A Poem by Meh
"

Written by the ocean, for the ocean. (Picture is not mine).

"

The wave crashes down on the rocks

Like the darkness covering the sun at night

As the sea ships roll on the rough seas

Guided by the shining moonlight

The shore leaps out

Like a predator catching prey

With such honor and valor

And their hunger begging for it to stay

Yet the moonlight isn’t enough

From the shore, there is a pillar of light

That greater than ever

Helps ships sail through the night

As morning comes

It shines its last beam of light

And stays silent and quiet

Until day becomes night

Author's Note

Meh
There is not supposed to be a space between the first and second line. They are supposed to be put together, to create the first four-line stanza.

I really enjoyed this poem.
It was very short, but had a lot of flow, just like the water you were writing about.
