Gone

Gone

A Poem by Red Hood

You came as wrecked and drunk as you could be
We talked as long as we could till morning comes
You slowly healed your wounds
I held your hands as long as you still wanted me to
Promises were made
But I slowed down my own pace
You walked on
I looked at you from afar
You seem happy
Happy enough to not notice my hands were no longer holding onto yours
You kept walking
I saw you reached out for her hands instead
I cried out your name
But you never even gave me a second glance
Then I realized
How far I've fallen
I smiled
Feeling the tears coming down my cheeks
Took me a while a realize it myself...
This love was meant to be broken.
