The Reason

The Reason

A Poem by Kyle Francisco

The reason was you
about a girl
in my life
in former time
when I did divide
a lost soul
with no thoughts to latch on to
inspiration
to stop degradation
a new mask I fixed
a unique gift
words not yet formulated
rare indeed
of now they don’t exceed
finally over this
though you I will always miss
my greatest friend
I feel it was best in the end
a life I leave behind
tribulations come to pass
suffering does not last
as simple as dew on the silk web
thoughts prevail of survival
experience of equilibrium
I am it
and it is me
together we see
errors as a commonplace
acting with such haste
letting infatuations fade
as true relationships are made
a lust for the unknown
and a rift has grown
I mean you know harm
yet I leave you now
maybe once more
but for now I must go
a sanctuary where my thoughts grow
this is not goodbye
nor a farewell
yet, a temporary leave
till I am well
