Third Letter

Third Letter

A Poem by Kyle Francisco

Hello to the sun
may this letter be done
through the night
let us conquer fright
with all this pain
hope story not in vain
so much to say
so little time
hard to hold on

As world passes by
connected through words
a tradition continually observed
tumultuous whirlwind
met with adversity
though it hurts me to see
seductive individuality
written in reality
more than I thought you were
take what you deserve
hard to hold on

Wish it were gone
weird enough you're there
when it seems I shouldn't care
quick with strike
passion you evoke
faced with contemplation
So, a letter to you
vampire of this town
wear not a frown
words so dark
thoughts so deep
nice to breathe sigh of relief
hard to hold on

This serves as vindication
as I watch desert sleep
I share my belief
intangible meeting
with this I am leaving
loveless
matchless
no happiness
confronting enemy
lay right before me
pass off as poetic exercise
brilliantly crafted lies
as whirlwind subsides
you and I collide
mirror of what is felt inside
a brief trestament
I am no hesitant
a walk through the valley

Seeping of my soul
infused with my spirit
hope you hear this
all is quiet
life a dream
and I can't leave
desert flower...
petals flutter
everything clusters
state I'm in
I've hardly been
shed no more tears
melt away your fears
I am here
until the end
I am your friend
