Moon Child

Moon Child

A Poem by S.G.P.

In the night I walk and play.
In the night I see my prey

By the light that guides my way,
For the night is as clear as day.

As I look at the silver moon
I pray for forgiveness for what I am about to do.

In the moonlight I see my prey,
For the moon I must obey.

I turn my shape as swift as time.
I howl to give my prey some time.

In a flash he runs with fear.
In a dash I chase with pride,
For I know I’ll never die.

As I see my prey slow down
Not knowing I am around.

I feel the hunger as I wait,
For my hunger I take my shape.

The moon is high and shines so bright,
But it is the moon I must obey,
For it is the moon I pray.

As I watch my tired prey
I think it’s time I must obey.
I leap in attack and with one bite;
He begins to slowly die,
As he cries his last goodbyes.

In the night the moon runs red for I have already fed.

First Poem I ever written. When I started writing I thought all poems had to rhyme.

I found this interesting to say the least..Even though every word rhymes it doesn't sound forced..I like how slowly I was taken into the idea of a werewolf like creature..I thoroughly enjoyed it.
