I Fell

Just admitting to falling....

 

I fell.

Not very far, but noticeably.

I didn't ever really want to tell,

Especially you.

 

Not knowing much and denial are different,

I've learned that.

Sort of like maybe disappointment shouldn't be my friend.

But in time I'll learn those lessons, will you?

 

You're not here for me to see,

But thats no different than usual.

And I'm starting to think you'll never need to be,

Because I may not be alright, but I'll be okay.

 

Don't listen to what their always telling you to do,

Sometimes they can be wrong.

Did they grow up with me, or did you?

Do they really get it right, or think they do?

 

I don't really need you to be listening,

That may just make it worse.

But I do need proof of you thinking,

That maybe you just might care.

 

I don't feel like I have the right to be saying this,

But I miss you anyway.

There, I said it.

Let the truth be told on my part, if only for this day.

 

So take in these words I hope you never hear,

And know that I fell.

Probably harder since your not here,

But I'll heal, eventually, since I finally got to tell.
