Luna's Love

Luna's Love

A Poem by SJ. Wheeler
"

My first real Poem, already published, though only in a local literary magazine.

"

Life's Burden

is Lightest at Dawn.

As sleep stains our eyes.

Scoured waking thoughts for

Socrates, Aristotle, the holy grail.

Youth's Iron Aegis

Edged Crimson by Noon.

A biding dread in our minds

Carpe Diem worn on Practiced tongues

Chanted through Clenched eyes, vain deny.

Squandered Aegis Fractured

by the Plummeting Sun.

Submission to the Hourglass.

Life's Burden

is Heaviest at Dawn.

Reminisced under Luna's Light.
