Losing Her

Losing Her

A Poem by SLaurenL

"

I saw her in my dreams

I thought she was you,

I’ve never seen her before.

Maybe your mother never told us that you had a twin

What happened to her?

What was her story?

Enough of that… Are you okay?

She said that you were with your mother now

She said that you were both happy…. In heaven

I still pray for you and I still feel regret.

Regret for taking one day off

Regret for ending our last conversation with a lie.

It was a white lie, but I just wanted to make you happy

I just couldn’t tell you to your face

I miss you every Wednesday.

No groceries on Wednesday

No laughter on Wednesdays

No more hugs on Wednesdays

I miss you and I hope you’re doing well and looking over me

Heaven couldn’t wait for you.

You are finally home with your husband, Jesus.

My guardian angel.
