Warm Winter Night

Warm Winter Night

A Poem by Baylin Snow

Its mid December

temperatures dropping below freezing

snow falling down

inches per hour

I sit on the couch

directly across from a large glass slider door,

admiring the heavenly scene before me.

The twilight air tinted with blue

reflecting against the undisturbed sparkling snow

I feel a warm arm wrap around my neck,

lips pressing against my cheek

A smile on my face uncontrollably appears

as I watch him light a fire in the

rustic fireplace of the cabin

The lights flicker until they turn off completely

We move to the floor

cuddling in warm blankets

He looks at me with longing eyes

as I feel the heat engulf my body

His hand slides over

to pull me in closer

Our heads turned in towards each other;

foreheads resting on each other

noses touching

He doesnt make a move

when he stares into my eyes

He tilts his head just enough

that our noses no longer touch

I drop my blankets

as he lifts my shirt over my head

My arms wrap around his neck

while the other hand undoes

his jeans with familiar ease

His hands brush the straps from my shoulder

I arch my back inviting him to

unclip the rest

He places his hands on my arch

resting me back down then

having his lips move from my lips

down to my stomach

Gracefully sliding my stretchy sweats

off of my mile long legs exposing

the black lace boy shorts underneath

I slide the Christmas boxers I love so much

off of his toned body

He follows suit taking the last article of clothing

off of my body

I wrap my legs around his waist

His body starts to move up and down on top of me

proceeding to speed up

My back arches once again-

my arms above me;

hands grasping the blankets with a

white knuckle grip

My chin tilts upwards with a

smile of please on my face

With on swift movement

he grabs both of my wrists

pinning them down with strong hands

Still passionately kissing my lips.

Much time passesm

fire only embers,

lights starting to flicker on

Rolling onto his back,

arm still around me,

he pulls me in closer;

I rest my head on his shoulder.

As he looks at me

he stroked my damp hair away from my face

My eyes begin to flutter shut

while he pulls the blankets up

and holds me tighter

Our fingers lace on his stomach

mine almost limp

With a firm kiss to the forehead

before I am only in my dreams,

the night comes to an end.
