Winter in my eyes

feeling far from energized
as i look into my hazel eyes
the fall leaves now gone
i quickly realize

 

drink my morning coffee
barely seeing the sun rise
over the snow casted hill
as these feelings overwhelm me inside

 

the emotions sinking in
knew it yesterday
but feeling it
more today

 

this season consumes me
makes me feel
this way

 

can't do the things i enjoy
that disguise the way i truly feel
this isn't what i need
to help me continue to heal

 

the snow melts away
only to be covered again
as my thoughts lead astray
I just can't win

 

so just wake me up
when this season ends
im tired of faking this smile
it only pretends
