THE GIFT

THE GIFT

A Poem by Saddam

I have so little to give my dear
So little of gold and silver
But I can give you a gift, my dear
That cannot be bought or sold.

It is warm as a blanket for a child
And, sweet as nectar of a bee
It is as fragrant as the flower in garden.

The only gift I can give you is
My smile when we meet
My tears to comfort you in pain
My hand to hold in your joy and sorrows.
