Masks

Masks

A Poem by ScarlettTheDreamer

Masks,
He wears his every living day
He hides it every single way.
He smiles and laughs for all they say,
But he shouts his heart out at home today.
Yesterday was all the same,
His kids just don't know who to blame.
In society he thrives with fame,
But no one really knows his little game.
His poor old wife cries all night,
But all she did was lose the fight.
She wanted to hold and hold on tight,
To peace and joy but she lost the light.
He never spoke a word so good
To make her happy but knew he should
But no outsider understood
The place in hell where he stood.
He tried to fit but never calmed down
He always came home and put on a frown
But everyone else thought him as nice and kind
Little did they know of his masked mind...

It's a shame how common this really is. No one really knows what people are really like unless they are with them all the time. Well presented.

Another very impressive poem on a painful and dark subject, abuse. Abusing one's wife and children and how the abuser puts on a different face with outsiders that he doesn't wear when he's at home. You did a wonderful job capturing that in your poem. Outstanding job on this write too!

About
Hi! I am a crazy dreamer. I write simply because I love it. I believe that there's really no meaning to life, and its stupid to go about finding one. One day you're here, one day you're gone. One day .. more..
