Praise

 

Earning praise for what we do
gives motivation to excel
When given by someone we respect
it gives power to always do well

 

Praise can also be deceptive
to cover up when we are not sure
Failure that leads to success
is really the best kind of cure

 

Those who are looking for praise
will be the easiest to get hurt
Real praise should only come from
someone who would give you their shirt

 

Hidden in the language of praise
may be suggestions about what to do
The praiser may also need your help
meaning the praise is not really true

 

Fashion dictates so much of what we do
the latest gadgets we use to share
To get the approval from many
hoping to find those who care

 

Our love of gadgets is the problem
approval may not even be praise
Better to have a close friend
who will be there for many more days
