Child's Mind

Child's Mind

A Story by Nicole

A car door closes brightening the day,

bringing color to the dull day of a child left alone.

Exited for a distraction in the long day.

Searching for answers left alone

in a child's mind.

A slam of a door brought her out of the trans of a child's mind.

To the truth and pain of life she woke confused, why was there need for tears?

Trust failing her, left in the dark all alone.

Hidden she listens and her nightmares were confirmed.

The ever growing puzzle piece fell in place. The cry of a mother echoed to the ears of a unseen child as a brothers yells follow. She sat holding her breath letting silent tears fall (trail her face).

Crawling back to her bed she try's to hid from her fears. The dark leaves her empty and alone to fight the demons of her family.
