The World I Leave Behind

The World I Leave Behind

A Poem by Echo

As I fill with darkness

the memories swallow me

I wish the pain

would leave me be

But I know

it never will

so I slit my wrist

and watch my blood spill

Letting it pour

over my hand

I'm sorry I failed

this was my last stand

You ended my will to live

my spirt is gone

I stopped living

and the devil has won

This...This one really touched me, in an errie disturbing way. like when you see something and get that ominous feeling inside and shudder, and clamp your eyes shut, but when you open them, the thing you view is creeping closer. You wish it to go away, but it only fades into your body, and you become what it was: A Sinner. I've always thought that the devil was just an angel with a bad temper, and I had faught to keep my soul and life from him. One day, it slipped right out and I have never been the same since. No matter what, you have to fight, and become something you can love. Do not give up. Never give up. I know it's easier said than done, but just remember: It's not in vain. No matter what you do, you can always count on finding the light at the end of the tunnel, with or without scars. With or without a soul, the devil, or God. That light is what you make to be. And in any case, the light is bright. Just reach for it and strive for it. Great artwork! Great write!
