What I Know

Write what you know, isn’t that what they say?

Well what if all I know is falling away?

What if it’s being kept at bay,

Or it’s too much for me to handle today?

 

What if what I know is wrong, and I lead other people astray

To follow an elusive and idealistic way?

But is it really so wrong to want the fantasy for a day?

To wish for the magical moments to stay

 

Nothing is what I thought anymore

So arrogant to think I know what’s in store

Or who won’t walk out my door

Destroy me like no one ever has before

 

But who’s to say I can’t want more?

Isn’t that what everyone is wishing for?

We all feel it in our core,

And it’s difficult to ignore

 

But we can’t let any of that show

And that is what I know
