Honesty and pain

Honesty and pain

A Poem by Samuel Jack

Empathy fits well the human face framed

But masks are never the less moulded,
Secured for there uses, then discarded much the same

Removing my mask I felt so plain
Others were coloured vivid,
Great stories laid claim
But subtle tells revealed their shame

Honesty some equate with pain
An opening for attack
Hurling words meant to maim

Put that old skin to the flame
Start fresh and pink
With non to blame
