Makeshift Maybe

Makeshift Maybe

A Poem by Sandra835

Make me your makeshift maybe,

Put me up on your shelf,

Stitch my hands, my heart, my mouth,

So I wont bleed out my self.

Make me your makeshift maybe,

Take me down to play,

If I’m broken, don’t waste words unspoken,

I am easily thrown away.

Make me your makeshift maybe,

Suspend me high up in the air,

Let me go revolving, no problem solving,

Ill fall when my heart strings tear.

Make me your makeshift maybe,

Only bring me out to learn,

If I miss my junction, fail and mis-function

Ill let you watch me burn

Make me your makeshift maybe,

Put me up on your shelf,

My stitches are faded, and under rated

I am bleeding out my self.

An interesting poem Sandra. This one of those poems where I can see things from a couple of ways. The speaker sounds lonely, searching, and willing for companionship even if she's treated harshly. Although she would love to have a relationship with meaning, she's willing to forgo it all by keeping quieter then she's like; willing to not fall in love; and not touch in the way she's like.

The last strophe is like a realization that she's been through this before and overall is suffering inside from past relationships that have evolved in the same way.

At least that's my take on it. Fine writing with good rhymes.

Welcome to WC.

Quite a vision create by this poem. To be bleed out is a bad way to go. Poem had a direction and follow the emotion to the strong ending. A interesting poem. Thank you for the excellent poem.
