Being a Scientist !

Being a Scientist !

A Poem by Sanjeeta Sharma Pokharel "Hridayaninadini"

Being a scientist
is more like
being a saint !

If encountered a menace
Tranquil! Stand!
No panic! No faint!

Aloof  from,
the slush of pleasure
You remain!

Cherishing
the questions-treasure
In your brain!

Being a scientist
Is more like
being a saint!

You are- no more you
But an owner
Whose house is on a rent!

Yes, it is the new religion perhaps. We trust facts not beliefs now. Doubting Thomas was a scientist when he examined Christ's wounds. Doubt everything. It is a good plan. But many still crave belief and romance, myself included. It wld be a dull life were we to know everything in some proveable way. But something tells me we never will.

Well others may des-agree, but science, religion, magic, nature all these things are one of the same, just descibed bifferently, wel done, good read.

i've always considered science a religion:
-you are searching for beginings
-you are asking why
-you base your beliefs on facts, logic, theory and that seems to be "faith" of sorts

Science always comes across as being the furthest thing from the passions. That's not neccessarily true. Its a committment people make for the advancement of knowledge about ourselves. Its possible they were once totally engrossed in their passions about what improvements we might need. Nice write!

Science does good and bad for this world. Man's desire to control all things will bite him in the rear one day. A interesting poem. Open the door to thoughts with many answers.
