Kiss the Dark

Kiss the Dark

A Poem by Sanjusha Durgam

My lips play words
Fondly in remembrance
My fingers dance
With subtlety
Through lanes of memories
Beethoven rings
Under my stifled sniffles
Bach performs
To the beat of my rolling tears
Your spirit and my soul merge
Melancholy becomes my blood
The ghosts of your touch
The phantom of your lips
You sit by me as I play
'Sonata' over and over
I move to the tune of YOU
I peel away the layers
Of broken rapture
You see, in your absence
My tears kiss the dark...
Not you...
