Joe The Canary

Joe The Canary

A Poem by Sunflower/Sara Kendrick

Joe the yellow canary

Lives next door to sweet Mary

A frog came in her house

Poor Mary gave a rouse

Joe gave shriek like fury

I sense a Napoleon Complex

As Joe the canary his wings flex

He stretches tall and proud

Squawks and skrieks real loud

At the Seagull who has huge huge pecs

It is fun to play with these formats.
A limerick usually tells a lesson with a humorous covering.
Here I see contrast of two unhealthy extremes in mind set.
Mary lives in fear and irrational cowering from something as small as mouse.
Joe thinks he is bigger and better than anything and will never back off from a dangerous situation.
Fun read.
