Emergency Room

Emergency Room

A Poem by Sunflower/Sara Kendrick

Enter the cavernous chamber

Met by the paperwork__you know the clipboard

Enter all this information first right here

Remember we need address, SS#, so we can trace you

Good we've got all that so now we'll treat you

Enter the little room with a I don't care nurse

Now I want to know what would equal good care

Care that would keep you coming back

Yeah! We want return visits not wellness

Room with no view

Occupied by much equipment

Opposite of home no comfort

Much anxiety...

We all know this feeling and I hope things resolve. But you demonstrate here how it's so hard to be IN that situation and have everyone around you be so nonchalant and uncaring. Hopefully past the gatekeepers you find real compassion and wisdom.

Very innovative :) an emergency room can indeed be stark and bereft of homely surroundings it is more so..

Well that's intense. I know how you feel, with the whole go to the hospital for one thing and ending up finding out about something worse. I'm really sorry that happened to your husband. You and your family are in my prayers
