I Am Bored With Disenchantment

I Am Bored With Disenchantment

A Poem by Sunflower/Sara Kendrick
"

Written for contest..

"

Deep, deep, deep like the old closed cold grave

Down in a chamber loneliness

And there horrible constant boredom

Never is there a filling this need

Romance disappeared like fog of morn

It was clinging wrapped like  wet t-shirt

But slowly dried left me wondering

What in the world really happened here

Wasn't like tsunami with deadly waves

But more subtle like soft splashing waves

Of low tide on a very calm day

Romance gone disenchantment here love

What a myriad of words that dance the mind. Somber longing.. clinging to thoughts of what was in love.. what no longer sings over you.. Yes.. sometimes there is that sudden wondering of the world.. the shock of what we've become. This was exceptional.

I definitely understand your disappointment at the disappearing... but we can conjure it back - just as you've done here. ;)

I feel the pain here from loss, loss of love and the loss of believing in love. A person can take only so much pain and disappointment before they start questioning, why bother with love at all? Then more pain and bitterness follow, the disenchantment period. Excellent poem. It really pulled me in on an emotional level.

One sided romance always ends in pain and your poem describes that very well. Loving someone causes hurt but having your love thrown in your face is one of the worse pains. Rejection = agony.

what is your idea of romance? fairy tales? so nothing of value of speaking forth truth etc? romance is the ultimate concern for the wellbeing of anothers soul..that is the height of love and romance..
