I don’t think I can last

Another minute waiting

Like I always wait for you.

Waiting still

Until they’re

Good and through.

I just can’t stand the way

Your eyes left mine too quickly.

Or the way that my skin tickles when

I dream about just maybe’s.

And I

Can’t stand the way

That all I ever do

Is fantasize.

Maybe not about

The usual

But about talking philosophy with you.

All I want to do

 is know more about your life.

Because so far,

I know nothing worthwhile

Except

That we would be

Ooooo

So compatible.

I can tell just looking.

You are just the match, I’m sure

That I’ve been waiting for

So long and patiently.

I've never seen Across the Universe, but I shall after reading this poem. This is a beautiful poem, Sara.. very real and transparent... I love the way you harness your thoughts and emotions into this shapely poem. You bring them together very nicely, not forcing them into a specific format, but allowing them to fall where they may... a fine exhibit.
