Obstacle

Obstacle

A Poem by Sara
"

encouragement

"

Keep crawling.

One leg after the other

One arm, one feeling

Tension of the ankle lets you know

The race is nearly over.

Gravel that burns can show

The day is nearly over.

Keep walking.

The moon reflects the agony

One rain drop too many

Slips and falls from its place

The race is nearly over.

Curling smoke of lace

The night is nearly over.

Keep running.

Dawn’s first rainbow ray

A light of firsts for the last time

An obstacle means death

The race is nearly over.

Cannot catch your breath

Your life is nearly over.

Keep going.

this is interesting - I get the image of someone running on into eternity. I like it, though I don't find it particularly encouraging, more like sombre.
