'Strangers'

'Strangers'

A Poem by Sarah W. French
"

...

"
My world slowly falls
down, shattering the Earth.
Friends arguing, parents
fighting, me never saying a word.
My heart speeds up
and it's ready to explode.
Please...please
don't throw our words away.
My tears fall to the ground
with out a single sound.
My sobs rush out
and I try to push them back.
I clutch my books
tight against my chest.
It feels as if they
are my only true friends.
And as I grab the rope and pills
friends suddenly appear.
But not those of skin and bone
but of websites and computers.
My friends, the ones who seem to care,
are the 'strangers' from the internet.
For me, they are the ones
who count.
