Truth

Truth

A Poem by Sarah W. French
"

...

"
Your words echo through
the house.
Always fighting, always
arguing, never agreeing.
Your words cut deep into
my skin.
They show that our family
is together but broken.
Voices breaking down walls
also break my heart.
I want to make you stop
to show you my voice.
But I'm to scared to do that
and listen to those words
aimed at me.
Your words echo through
my head.
They fill me with
doubt and anger.
I bite my tongue
so my hate can't escape.
Kisses are sent as if to
make up for our troubles.
No one sees our family as broken
but I do
because I know the truth.
