Flame

Flame

A Poem by Sarah W. French
"

...

"
I sit covered in shadow
trying to control fire.
I like to feel the burn
and the agony.
I hide my frown,
I'm unworthy to show it.
Heat, fire, take me down.
My heart and soul
belongs to the warmth.
The shadows hug me,
keep me safe.
Because if they didn't
hold me back.
I would jump into the
flames and let them
take me.
