Don't Start This Fire Again

Don't Start This Fire Again

A Poem by Sasha

Don't do this to me

Not again.

I loved you once.

I've loved you since then.

But don't you dare,

Don't start this fire again.

The burns still sting.

My wounds still bleed.

Yes I'll always be here for you.

But I still need to breathe.

Don't you dare.

Don't you dare start this fire again.

I still have soul deep slashes inside,

And shattered pieces of my heart still reside,

Inside this shell of a body I call mine.

Thank god you haven't killed me completely inside.

I struggled.

I cried.

To keep my heart that's left inside,

still beating.

Don't you dare...

Don't start this fire...
