++ turning the undead ++

 

 

the seas of entropy have vomited

a scabrous beast onto the shore

of my liquor store again


a creature of unhealth and woe

a horror of ravenous despair

a toothless grinning revenant


it's lambent gaze is turned on me

a dreadful need that chills my bones

shines corruption upon my shrinking skin


to save myself i must dig deep

to pull the object of my faith

a talisman of no uncertain strength


with a shout I brandish green

unfettered glorious in the breeze

mammon's gifts will set me free


take that

i cry

and then begone

your countenance i would see no more


with a moan from deep within

that reeks of cancer and cheap wine

the dread shambler turns and fades away

Hmmm - I'd say dumb it down a little. You and I may understand what you're saying (even though I did have to look some of the words up), but your audience is just going to give up and stop reading once they realize they can't even understand the words written down. Maybe that's why nobody's reviewed it yet... ;) But I like the whole point of the poem, it's really good. Thumbs up.
