Silver Medal

Silver Medal

A Poem by Scott Lawlor
"

I wrote this for a HitRecord submission, the themes were love and feeling thrown away, like trash.

"

The second step on the pedestal,

The seldom bought item in the jewelry store,

The winner of none,

A constant reminder that I couldn't be number one.

My love was crumpled and thrown away,

In her bin of those loved and lost.

She scratched the surface of my heart,

But beneath the silver lining, were shades of brilliant gold.

I like the analogy of this poem with love and winning medals...Bravo...............
