MERE XXVI

MERE XXVI

A Poem by Seanne Tholltree

Four years ago you caught me,

From the very first day,

My first tertiary friend could attest to that.

You’re not that handsome

You ain’t got a super body but

But you make heads turn.

And I’m one of them.

I know that you can never be mine

Maybe I ain’t your type

But I don’t want you to be taken either.

“I never know how the future will go

I don’t know what to tell you

I’m not a fortune teller”

That’s what merely plays in my head.
