"Where is your Sting?"

"Where is your Sting?"

A Poem by Luthien of the Woods
"

"A reflection about dying and living.."

"

"Where is your sting tell me, where is your pride?"
O death when you knock on life's door
or force your entrance.
I fear your menace
and crouch like
a worm
about to be trampled
by a giant foot.

I fear since you are a stranger
that smiles like a sinister
face in my nightmare.
A shadow that creeps
in the night
when the sun is nowhere
to be seen.
You are my mortal
reality.

Some say you are an enemy
of the soul
a messenger from abyss
that respects no one:
the mighty and the weak,
the old and the young
will succumb to your snare.

Will i look you in the eye
when you come
as so many great
humans have done?
You are a mystery
but greater than you
has come.
Yes, you will conquer
for awhile,
a stranger
in this land of the Living.
Someday you have to leave
and one day you will die
for eternity belongs to life
and not to death.
