Distant Relation

Distant Relation

A Poem by Sehar

DISTANT RELATION

Stepping out in a moonlit night

Barefoot, I began to walk

Accompanied by the wind’s sigh

Endless memories within I soak.

Closing my eyes, I remember

The times we had been together

Now you are away, somewhere alone

And here with loneliness, I too, tremble.

The time you guided me eagerly,

To dance under the moonlight

To love, to live carefree

Heaven was what you made me see.

My head fitted your shoulder, perfectly

Fingers locked in yours, tightly

How you leaned forward, gently

To kiss my cheek, ardently.

Each day, a new hope, my heart kindles

To tell how much I love thy,

But every time it is heartlessly dwindle,

When the night silently passes by.

Now, with a frail hope, with dying tears,

I stare the moon in anticipation,

Wishing upon wish you stare back,

For this would be our distant relation!
