From Ashes

From Ashes

A Poem by Joan Davis
"

After it all falls apart...

"
The vultures circled
Knowing what I did not yet
They were closing in

They hovered above
Waiting for some sign of death
A sign to swoop in

Smoke began to rise
From our home, from deep inside
Giving rise to flames

It burned to the ground
All that's left are the ashes
Of the life we built

After the descent
They search the crumbled remains
That will serve as prey

Once they've had their fill
They gather to fly away
But they leave a spark

An orange light grows
Giving rise to a new life
A Phoenix rises from ash

Oh wow, what a legendary notion to behold, no doubt this poem has the earmarks of the vision you describe so powerfully. Such a meditative, creative work of heart!
