The Woman in White

The Woman in White

A Poem by Rivaxorus
"

Dreams can be mysterious things

"

There was a night I decided to rest my eyes

One night where I stepped into a new world

Full of flowers, and wonders

Inside of a large house that sat on the top of the hill

While I couldn’t feel anything over my body

The room was tinted in shades of night colors

A pathway was underneath me

Made out of what looked like expensive stone

As I continued on the silence grew greater

Out on a piece of slab was a woman under the moon

Dressed in all white

I couldn't quite remember what her face looked like

I tried to touch her, but the howling wolves stopped me

Next thing I knew it was dark

By the time I opened my eyes again

I was in my bed once more

I based this poem off of a dream I had when I was in elementary school. I remember it vividly and decided to describe it in a poem as short as it is. I wonder if it meant anything about my future, or was just an uncanny dream in the back of my head. I had it twice when I was in third grade, but I have never had it again. Like many of the weird dreams I had when I was a kid. But this one, this one was the only one that didn't have a horrible ending.

I like this one Seimei, I had a dream about a white woman as well when I was younger and it brought back some memories. My dream was every bit as chilling as that moment in your poem when you reach out to touch her and the wolves begin to howl. My dream was about 2 young kids with white masks on their faces and they were telling me that I was living in their house, then their mother appeared not wearing a mask but all three dressed in white and appearing ethereal. I don't remember much more after that but I do still remember the dream and how it made me feel. Good write.

It's ironic the theme of the dreams that stick with us. I'm not sure what the meaning of this one would be...

Interesting dream, with tantalizing images. There seemed to be protection from those wolves. You turned your eerie dream into a good poem.

Interesting dream.. White standing for purity and innocence.. and well, wolves ya know, standing for nasty people wanting to strip you of that purity and innocence. The full moon stands for seeing things through to fruition. Does this help at all? Did something happen in 3rd grade to take away your innocence? perhaps that is why you never dreamed this again.
